Lenovo Achieves ‘Ambassador’ Status in 2024 Workplace Pride Global Benchmark

HONG KONG - Lenovo has achieved its highest-ever score in the 2024 Workplace Pride Global Benchmark, earning ‘Ambassador’ status with a record score of 70.1%, an increase of 18.5 points from 2023. Lenovo was awarded “Ambassador” status, which is given to organizations that score between 70% and 90% and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace, helping to foster a more inclusive society. Lenovo’s notable achievements in Business and Supplier Engagement and Societal Impact were key factors in earning the ‘Ambassador’ status, a press release stated by Lenovo.

“Lenovo’s historic achievement in this year’s Workplace Pride Global Benchmark is due to the work of the EMEA Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG),” said Calvin Crosslin, Chief Diversity Officer, Lenovo. “By working with Workplace Pride, we have been able to identify gaps in our organization, and our ERG has collaborated closely with teams across the business to make structural improvements to make Lenovo more inclusive for all our employees.”

Lenovo scored highest in Business and Supplier Engagement by actively supporting LGBTQ+-owned businesses and ensuring suppliers adhere to Lenovo’s inclusive code of conduct, and in Societal Impact through its support of LGBTQ+ NGOs, particularly in less progressive countries.

“Being awarded Ambassador status is a testament to the work of the entire ERG team, supported by our committed D&I leaders,” said Christoph Blankenhagen, Chair of EMEA Pride at Lenovo.

From launching self-ID capabilities in our HR systems to ensuring all our policies use inclusive language and launching new gender guidelines, we’re creating an organization that is inclusive for all. Partnering with Workplace Pride allows us to audit our processes and policies and identify areas for further improvement.”

Launched in 2014, Workplace Pride’s Global Benchmark provides participants with concrete and tangible actions to ensure their workplaces are fully inclusive for LGBTIQ+ people. The findings from this year’s survey highlight a significant shift in how organizations worldwide perceive societal changes, global uncertainties, and their commitment to fostering diverse, inclusive environments.

As part of the assessment, organizations are rated across eight key categories, including policy and communication, employee networks, workplace awareness, and support and benefits.

Lenovo is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace for its LGBTIQ+ employees, and the company continues to be recognized for its efforts. It has been included in several key indexes, including the Corporate Equality Index.
