OPPO Ranks Eighth Globally for 5G Standard Essential Patents

DONGGUAN - LexisNexis, a US company, released its latest report titled "Who Is Leading the 5G Patent Race?" This report provides a comprehensive analysis and ranking of global 5G standard essential patents (SEPs). OPPO ranked eighth on this list, demonstrating its strong capabilities and substantial technological accumulation in the 5G field, a press release stated by OPPO. 

Additionally, in January 2025, the well-known intellectual property website Patently published a report on "The Top100 Global 5G Standard Essential Patent Holders for 2025." The report similarly showed that OPPO ranked eighth among global companies for 5G standard essential patents.

As a leading global technology enterprise, OPPO has established a presence in over 40 countries and regions, continuously supporting its global business operations. As of December 31, 2024, OPPO's total number of global patent applications exceeded 110,000, with more than 61,000 authorized patents. Among these, the number of invention patent applications surpassed 100,000, accounting for 91% of all patent applications. According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in its 2023 ranking of international patent treaty (PCT) applications, OPPO ranked ninth globally.
