TVTC Saudi Arabia and TAG-Org Sign a Professional Partnership Agreement

RIYADH - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed a cooperation agreement to disseminate the International Certificate in IT Skills Validated by University of Cambridge International examinations with the presence of a representative from Cambridge University.

According to the agreement, TVTC will be the sole licensor and in charge of running and managing the program throughout the Kingdom under the full monitoring and supervision of TVTC and TAG-Org with full compliance to the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)- University of Cambridge validation procedures. The parties will exert their efforts to promote the significance of the certificate in the KSA each within his own jurisdiction and specialty.

Dr. Fahd A. Al-Tuwaijri, TVTC vice governor, said that the Corporation in its capacity as the entity in charge of training in the Kingdom seeks the best programs and certificates in this domain by developing the local training programs or through attracting high-reputable international training programs.

Al-Tuwaijri added that the agreement signifies the Corporations keenness to enhance the quality of training in the Kingdom and its eagerness to provide the trainees with the required skills and knowledge in using computer and its applications.

He stressed that the Cambridge certificate is widely recognized regionally and internationally for the professionalism of its holders in IT skills pointing out it will be an added value to the training market in the KSA.

In addition, TVTC Vice Governor stated that the Corporation encourages and continues to sign agreements for such international certificates according to quality standards and direct supervision in conformity with the regulations that govern the training process.
 
Salah Abu Osbeh, executive director at TAG-Org said, "We are working with Cambridge International Examinations since 2001 through Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center to deliver Information Technology Skills assessment, through a validated and approved program by CIE in all 22 Arab countries. This agreement with TVTC is the result of intensive procedures conducted by the Corporation during the trial of the programs content and outcome.

Abu Osbeh added that the same program has been approved and accredited by several governments such as Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Jordan and Bahrain in addition to other Arab countries and this signing comes after a comprehensive research by TVTC.

We count on quality while working with partners and TVTC is on top of that, we are really proud of the agreement and at the same time looking forward for future cooperation in other fields," Mr. Abu Osbeh concluded.

Meanwhile, William Bickerdike, CIE regional manager, said that the Cambridge IT Skills certificate has been designed and developed by the CIE, which is part of Cambridge University.

Bickerdike noted that the University is a pioneer in educational assessment and the certificate is certified by more than 155 countries globally.

The Cambridge IT Skills certificate trainees receive the certificate which represents their training passport to the world of business today. Not to forget that the certificate is the target of ongoing assessment by the CIE to be in conformity with the markets requirements, Bickerdike reiterated.

He added that the certificate is categorized into two levels: first is the Cambridge IT Skills Certificate/ Basic Knowledge and secondly is the Advanced Cambridge IT Skills Certificate.

It's worth mentioning that the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation has examined and applied the certificate for three months in different areas and the results were excellent. The corporation will completely supervise the certificate to guarantee its outcome and will work towards recognizing the certificate by government and private recruitment bodies in the Kingdom.

The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) (http://www.tvtc.gov.sa) is an institution specialized in providing services related to vocational training in all its forms and levels such as vocational training for young people, preparatory training, vocational training, in order to improve the performance of the productive efficiency of local work forces.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge Information Technology Training Center (TAG Cambridg IT) was established as a result of an agreement that was signed on 18/6/2001 between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)- University of Cambridge to deliver IT training courses through an internet website together with the additional learning resources.
