SingTel Achieves ISO/IEC 20000 Certification

Special to TAG-IT News Agency

SINGAPORE - Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) announced it has received ISO/IEC 20000 certification for its ConnectPlus and Meg@POP suite of Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) services.

ISO/IEC 20000 is the first worldwide standard for IT Service Management. Also known as IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), the standard provides an independent, internationally recognized means of benchmarking the delivery of IT services with an integrated set of management processes.

To achieve accreditation, SingTel was assessed by a Registered Certification Body (or RCB), and was required to follow a strict program of training and audits.  During the program, SingTels IT service management processes and documentation were audited and checked for conformance to a stringent set of criteria.

Alan Lam, SingTels vice president of IP and Data Engineering, said:

The quality of our services is always our prime focus, and we constantly review our IT operations to follow industry best practices.  As our suite of international and domestic IP VPN services are fully ISO/IEC 20000 certified, our customers can be assured that their mission-critical applications are supported with proven performance, scalability and reliability.  SingTel, as Asia's leading communications company, is committed to delivering superior one-stop ICT services that meet the fast-changing needs of businesses in today's highly-competitive global economy.
