Huawei Successfully Completes the 3rd ETSI ISG mWT Plugtests™

SOPHIA - Huawei successfully completed the 3rd ETSI ISG mWT Plugtests™, which demonstrates the interoperability among Microwave and Millimetre wave radio links across the vast majority of the Microwave industry, according to the official website of Huawei.

It is widely accepted that an agile and efficient end-to-end network automation is a necessary part of 5G and future networks. Given the multi-domain characteristic of transmission networks, interoperability among Domain Controllers is of paramount importance.

The 3rd ETSI ISG mWT Plugtests™ was conducted remotely across different countries, with the Centralized Network Controller located at ETSI in France and the test equipment and domain controllers located at different labs in Europe and Japan.

The tests included performing Network Autodiscovery, L2 Service Provisioning and discovery of connections to other domains using the IEEE standard LLDP protocol, which is almost universally implemented across the industry.

Huawei values the participation and interest of the four Tier 1 Global Telecommunication Operators that participated in the event, confirming the importance of compatibility and interoperability in a true End to End fashion.

With the completion of the third event in this series, we were able to demonstrate full interoperability and End to End controllability of multi-vendor Microwave networks based on Huawei’s best-in-class Network Cloud Engine Management and Control system.

Notwithstanding the challenges of performing remote interoperability tests in these trying times, the invaluable support of ETSI CTI, who provided both guidance, network infrastructure and test programming support, and the innovation capability of the Participants, contributed to the full success of the whole event.
