US Businessmen Meet Assad

DAMASCUS - Syrian President Bashar Assad discussed with a delegation of US diplomats and executives from telecommunications company means of bilateral cooperation.

The six-member delegation including representatives from Microsoft, Dell and Cisco Systems, according to sources, has discussed mechanism of dealing with the US sanctions imposed on Syria until a decision to partially or thoroughly lift the sanction is endorsed.

The sources added that the delegations visit to Damascus is exceptional for a US commercial and technical delegation arranged by the US State Department as part of Barack Obamas to test the seriousness of Assad's pledge to expand the economic ties and find ways to increase information technology in Syria.
