7th Annual Google I/O Developer Conference: Android Everywhere

SAN FRANCISCO, United States -- Google Inc. released on its official blog a summary of the new technologies the multibillion dollar company announced in the first day of its seventh annual Developer Conference (I/O). Google revealed its ambition plans to further sync Android technology into daily life, and to expand Android use globally.

Beyond the Android mobile phone, which, along with a basic Internet connection will serve as the foundation of Google's Android extension, the company divulged a preview of its plans to broaden Android abilities further in the home and on the go.

In the home, Google has updated its Chromecast technology, which currently allows users to cast anything from the web (e.g. music, videos and games) to their TV. The newer version will let users cast to their TV even if they are not on the same WiFi network. Additionally, a customized homescreen and direct mobile and tablet screening combined with simplified features makes Chromecast even more user-friendly, convenient and powerful.

Furthermore, Google revealed Android TV, a new technology that will connect directly to the user's TV either by being built-in to the TV itself ot through a set-top box. Android TV will allow users to access the web as well as Android apps and games directly on their TV, search for movies and TV shows with voice command and receive personalized suggestions on their TV homescreen.

While on the move, Google envisions non-stop Android access through Android Wear and Android Auto.

Android Wear is the latest in smartwatch technology, allowing users to access most of the information they could on their phone through a wristwatch piece. Two smartwatches are already available for order on Google Play: the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live. Motorola's Moto 360 smartwatch will be available for purchase as well in the coming months.

Android Auto seeks to keep users updated and able to access Android technology while driving - without the hazards attached to driving while using a mobile phone. This new technology connects an Android mobile with the car itself, allowing the user to access music, maps and more by safely using the car's controls instead of looking at their mobile screen. This technology will be available later in 2014.

Finally, Google detailed its new initiative to bring Android mobile technology to more people in the world. Known as Android One, this project will be launched in India in the fall, providing phones with Android technology for under $100 as well as reasonable data plans.

On its official blog, Google said of Android One: "We've long wondered what potential could be unleashed if people everywhere had access to the latest technology and the world's information. It's time to find out."
