ASUS Blade Healthcare AI Software Receives HSA Approval in Singapore
AI-powered peripheral blood film analysis software achieved 99-100% agreement and will be showcased at Smart Health Asia 2026
SINGAPORE - ASUS announced that ASUS Blade received Health Sciences Authority (HSA) approval as a Class B In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) medical device in January 2026, making the AI-powered peripheral blood film analysis software officially available for clinical use in Singapore laboratories. Co-developed with Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital under NHG Health, ASUS Blade leverages real-world local clinical data to support WBC differential, RBC morphology grading, platelet estimation, and tele-hematology for remote case reviews, according to the official website of ASUS.
ASUS Blade is the first Class B IVD medical device from ASUS to be HSA-approved and has successfully completed evaluations across five institutions in Singapore’s public and private healthcare ecosystem, spanning hospitals, polyclinics, and diagnostic labs. In these evaluations, ASUS Blade met all pre-specified acceptance criteria and achieved 99–100% agreement in key metrics in manual reference methods.
By automating pre-classification of routine blood film cases, ASUS Blade streamlines hematology workflows and helps medical technologists focus on complex and abnormal cases. Designed as a collaborative tool, it supports laboratory efficiency while ensuring that final clinical interpretation and sign-out remain under the supervision of qualified professionals.
“This milestone involving HSA approval reflects ASUS’ commitment to supporting Singapore’s healthcare innovation,” said Cathy Chang, General Manager of ASUS Intelligent Cloud Services (AICS) Singapore. “With our AI expertise and local support, we are honored to help laboratories enhance workflows and improve diagnostic efficiency.”
ASUS healthcare AI solutions will be showcased at Smart Health Asia 2026, from July 1–2, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore. Highlights at the ASUS booth #H32 will include ASUS Blade, Clinical AI Assistant, Lumos, and Miraico, alongside sensing and connected-care solutions such as ASUS VivoWatch, ASUS Handheld Ultrasound with Healthcare AI Agent, and the ASUS Healthcare monitor series.
