Lenovo Signs Industry Letter Supporting Open-Weight AI

BEIJING - Lenovo is a signatory to an industry-led coalition letter supporting the continued development and availability of open-weight AI models. Lenovo joins more than 200 businesses and organizations across the technology sector as a signatory to the effort, according to the official website of Lenovo. 

The letter calls for an AI ecosystem that preserves and advocates for access to open-weight models and supports the infrastructure needed to safely and securely deploy them. The letter highlights the importance of access to compute, shared resources such as datasets, evaluation frameworks and tools, and policy approaches that enable continued innovation and competition while addressing security risks.
