ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces ROG XG Station 3

External graphics card dock delivers modular power for ultra-PC setups

• Thunderbolt™ 5 connectivity enables up to 80Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth — twice as fast as Thunderbolt 4
• Compatible with ASUS BTF graphics cards for an ultraclean aesthetic that eliminates PCIe® power cables
• Dock directly supports up to three 4K displays and features two USB-C® ports to connect keyboards, mice, gaming gear and other peripherals

TAIPEI - ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the ROG XG Station 3 external graphics card dock, featuring a Thunderbolt™ 5 connection capable of up to 80Gbps of bidirectional bandwidth or up to 120Gbps with Thunderbolt 5 Bandwidth Boost for high-volume video traffic. This level of performance enables incredible visual fidelity at a detailed resolution with ultrafluid frame rates, even for everyday laptops. With a graphics card in the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series, RTX PRO 6000 Series, AMD Radeon™ RX 9000 Series, or Intel® Arc™ Series, users can access the absolute best performance in AAA games, vast power for content creation, and all the latest game-boosting features, according to the official website of ASUS.

Customizable graphics power

Premium graphics cards are as stylish as they are powerful, so ROG opted for an open-frame design for the ROG XG Station 3. This keeps a user’s graphics card out in the open as a visual centerpiece while also ensuring that it has entirely unobstructed access to cooling. With a standard graphics card, this arrangement will leave a PCIe® power cable visible, but users are not limited to standard options. The ROG XG Station 3 includes a GC-HPWR slot that enables users to install a BTF 2.5 graphics card such as the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5080 BTF OC Edition or the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 BTF Edition — both of which are capable of drawing power without a visible cable.

The ROG XG Station 3 complements the style of a user’s graphics card with polished metallic surfaces and sleek lines. Plus, full Aura Sync support makes it easy to synchronize its RGB illumination with other Aura-compatible gear.

Incredible convenience

The outputs on the graphics card users install in the ROG XG Station 3 will give them plentiful options for connecting displays on their desk, making the dock a one-stop shop for accessing high-end graphics performance on any display (or displays) of their choice.

The XG Station 3 can also give users a true single-cable experience with many devices. The Thunderbolt 5 port used to connect to a compatible laptop offers up to 140 watts of USB Power Delivery, on top of its 80Gbps of ultrafast data transfer, enabling it to fully power a wide range of laptops.

In addition to the primary Thunderbolt 5 upstream port, the XG Station 3 also gives users a versatile Thunderbolt 5 downstream port. This port gives users an easy way to connect USB-C® monitors, supporting up to three 4K displays via daisy chaining — a feature not typically offered by graphics cards. Additionally, it can provide up to 36W of USB Power Delivery for mobile devices or peripherals.

The XG Station 3 can also act as a comprehensive I/O hub. Two USB 10Gbps Type-C® ports, located within arm’s reach on the front, give users a convenient access point for connecting gaming gear, external storage, and more.

Boost laptop setups with desktop-class GPU performance and more

The performance available with laptops has made leaps and bounds in recent years, even with compact options like the ROG Zephyrus G14. But as game developers continually ramp up the fidelity and realism, gamers continually have reason to seek out more performance. That could mean a new gaming PC — or it could mean the flexibility and easy upgradeability of the ROG XG Station 3, which lets users upgrade the power of compatible laptops to desktop-caliber gaming performance.
