Silicon Valley High School Launches Patented Suite of AI-Powered Tools on Learning Platform; Transforms Education with Technology Partner AWS
LAS VEGAS - Silicon Valley High School (SVHS), an accredited leader in technology-driven education, serving over 70,000 students with more than 60 online courses, announced the launch of a patented suite of AI capabilities integrated into its AlwaysOnline Learning Platform. Working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the platform leverages AWS infrastructure and Amazon Bedrock to ensure security, reliability, and scalability that’s redefining traditional education with a more personalized, engaging approach, a press release stated by Amazon.
“21st Century learning demands a shift from outdated educational models,” said David Smith, CEO and Co-Founder of SVHS. “We’re grateful to AWS who provided a team of engineers to help us leverage the powerful AWS hosting and generative AI platforms. By combining advanced technologies with innovative teaching methods, we are reinventing the learning experience for students and educators alike.”
AI-Powered Personalized Learning and Efficiency
Quickly growing into one of the world's largest schools, SVHS provides students with innovative, tailored AI learning tools. The first of these include:
• Barni: An advanced proctoring system that ensures a secure ‘no cheating’ test environment. Barni authenticates students using facial and voice recognition, monitors eye movement, and prevents unauthorized access to external resources during tests.
• Sage: A personal tutor available within each course, Sage offers expert assistance in note-taking, real-time feedback, and detailed answers to course-related questions.
• Ace: A writing and assessment guide that helps students improve their writing skills for essays and assignments. Integrated within the SVHS Smart Editor, Ace also collaborates with Barni for a comprehensive learning experience.
• Dot: A teaching assistant that engages students in comprehension tests through various chat odes. Dot also supports teachers with curriculum development and grading.
Users can chat directly with these bots on the Meet the Bots page of the SVHS website.
“SVHS is applying generative AI to create more personalized and effective learning experiences,” said Todd Pond Director, US Strategic Sales, AWS. “By leveraging services like Amazon Bedrock, SVHS is reshaping traditional education methods with new learning tools that will help understand student needs, assist teachers, and ensure academic integrity.”
Expanding Educational Opportunities
SVHS is also collaborating with other schools and school districts to offer its curriculum under a Private-Label Learning Management System, enabling traditional institutions to adopt blended learning models swiftly.
